Wacker Nanjing Production Capacity Expansion Redispersible Polymer Powder

The grand opening ceremony for the capacity expansion of WACKER Nanjing RDP Production Base was held, marking the successful completion of the capacity expansion of WACKER Nanjing Production Base for vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) emulsion and VAE redispersible polymer powder. After the expansion of WACKER's Nanjing production base, a new emulsion reactor and a redispersible polymer powder spray dryer were added, which more than doubled the production capacity and can greatly meet the growing demand for high-quality binders in China's booming construction industry demand.

Hu Wentao emphasized at the opening ceremony that the capacity expansion of Nanjing RDP production base is a milestone for WACKER China. Through the expansion, sufficient space has been reserved for subsequent new production lines, enabling rapid construction of future expansion projects. This not only guarantees to meet the continuously released consumption potential of the Chinese market, but also lays a solid foundation for WACKER's long-term development in China.

Chen Wenbin said in his speech that the WACKER RDP Nanjing Base Expansion Project has been successfully completed and put into operation. Transformation and upgrading are of great significance.

The production capacity expansion project of WACKER Nanjing RDP production base was launched at the end of 2020, with an investment of more than 100 million US dollars. Among them, the design of the VAE emulsion project adopts advanced emulsion polymerization technology and high-standard safety control system, and the entire process is at the leading level in the world . The new production line of VAE redispersible polymer powder adopts advanced spray drying technology and is equipped with advanced process control system (APC). Both new facilities are among the largest of their kind in the world.

WACKER's VAE emulsions and latex powders have participated in the development of the Chinese construction market, providing adhesives for various applications such as tile adhesives, waterproof membranes, and carpets. The Nanjing capacity expansion strengthens WACKER's position as a global leader in vinyl-vinyl acetate dispersions and polymer powders.

In response to the possible increase in carbon emissions from the new RDP equipment, WACKER's Nanjing production base has also specially invested in an incinerator, which can use waste gas to generate steam, thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 10,000 tons per year.
