KimaCell® MHEC MH75M methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose can significantly improve the performance of the mortar. It can improve the consistency, workability, bonding performance and water retention performance of the mortar. The field of mortar mixing plays a very important role. The role of MHEC in mortar is mainly reflected in the following three aspects: excellent water retention capacity, influence on mortar consistency and thixotropy, and rheological adjustment.

Kima Chemical MHEC MH75M methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose is used in the field of building materials, MHEC can be used as a thickener, tackifier, water retention agent, air-entraining agent and retarder for coatings, plasters, mortars and cement products. Most of the building material industry is used at normal temperature. The conditions of use are dry mixing of powder and adding water. It is less related to the dissolution characteristics and thermal gelation characteristics of cellulose ether, but it is used in the mechanized production of cement products and other special temperature conditions. These characteristics of cellulose ether will play a more full role when used.MHEC can increase the tensile bond strength of mortar, but it is unfavorable to the compressive strength and elastic modulus of mortar. After compounding MHEC and PP fiber, the plastic shrinkage cracking of cement mortar can be significantly reduced.
