KimaCell® EC N7 ethyl cellulose is usually white granules or powder, non-toxic, colorless, biologically inert, and chemically stable, soluble in common organic solvents. As a coating material, adhesive, coating material and sustained-release coating, it is widely used in the fields of taste-masking coating, sustained-release preparation matrix and microcapsules.

As one of the most professional ethyl cellulose manufacturers in China, KimaCell® EC N7 ethyl cellulose is used in a variety of applications such as taste-masking coatings, sustained-release matrices, and microcapsules.
Taste masking coating
As a water-insoluble film-forming material, EC can not only be applied in multi-particulate controlled-release coatings or provide an additional physical barrier for water-sensitive ingredients, but also be used for taste-masking of active pharmaceutical ingredients. The process is simple and mature (no curing required), which is more suitable for drugs sensitive to heat and humidity.
Microcapsules
Microcapsules are a common dosage form for sustained and controlled release of drugs. Encapsulating drugs in polymers can not only achieve sustained drug release, but also improve drug bioavailability, reduce side effects, and improve stability. High-viscosity EC can be used for drug microencapsulation, and the release rate of the drug can be adjusted by polymer-coated microcapsules.
Control release material
Ethylcellulose also slows drug dissolution and has long been used as a physical barrier based on organic solvents. EC can form a strong polymer film with good adhesion, and can achieve different drug release purposes by adjusting the thickness of the film, adding a water-soluble pore-forming agent, or by changing the model of KimaCell used.
