1. Canned citrus
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) can prevent the albino deterioration caused by the decomposition of citrus glycosides during storage, so as to achieve the effect of freshness preservation.
2. Frozen food and fruit products
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose can be added to fruit pulp and ice for a better taste.
3. Sauce
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose can be used as an emulsion stabilizer and thickener for sauces and tomato pastes.
4. Cold water coating and glazing
It can be used for the storage of frozen fish. It can be coated with MC (methyl cellulose) or HPMC (hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose) solution first, and then frozen on ice to prevent discoloration and deterioration.
5. Tablet binder
As a binder for tablets and pills, it has good adhesion and "simultaneous disintegration" performance (it melts quickly when taken, or disintegrates and disperses).
1. Shampoo
It can improve the viscosity of shampoo, detergent and cleaning agent and the stability of bubbles.
2. Toothpaste
Can improve the fluidity of toothpaste.
1. Polymerization of vinyl chloride and vinylidene
As a suspension stabilizer and dispersant in polymerization reactions, HPMC can be used together with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) to control the distribution and shape of particles.
2. Binder
As a wallpaper adhesive, it can replace starch and is usually used in conjunction with vinyl acetate latex paint.
3. Pesticides
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose can be added to insecticides and herbicides to improve the adhesion effect when spraying.
4. Latex
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose can improve the emulsion stabilizer of asphalt emulsion and the thickener of styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) latex.
5. Adhesive
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose can be used as a binder for pencil and crayon molding.
